In order to avoid too much difficulty with traffic regulations the convoy may have to be restricted to 60 vehicles, which should be of Second World War vintage and of all allied nations.

FROSTBITE ISSUE

The Brooklands military day on 17th November produced a really good cross-section of military machinery, from diminutive airborne motorcycles to a Centurion tank, and a particularly fine selection of eleven German sidecar outfits – including my little DKW amongst the enormous BMW’s and Zundapps!  A good day out at a brilliant museum, the home of British motor racing and iconic aircraft – the whole site symbolizes everything that is great about British ingenuity and just oozes nostalgia.

Member Tom Kempster has kindly set up a Facebook page for our area – on your Facebook home page in the search bar type “southhantsmvt”, click on the page entitled “South Hampshire Military Vehicle Trust” and press the “like” button on the page – and there we are!

At time of writing our 2020 calendar is yet to be finalised, but no doubt we will be enjoying the hardy perennials such as The Friends of New Forest Airfields (FONFA) Classic Car Drive-in Day, Tilford at War, The brilliant Overlord Show, hopefully Southwick Village, and an event at the recently refurbished D-Day museum in Southsea.

Keep wielding those spanners!

Chris Harris
